It takes at least 90 days for envy to mature to green shell stage here
I also plant mooncafe, a climber that takes 110 days

"Envy" is one of the earliest edamame soybeans, it should still have time to mature, at least enough for edamame.The DTM for "Envy" is from time of direct seeding... while transplants should not be necessary in your climate, your actual DTM will probably be longer than 75 days due to your cool nights.

If you are close enough to the coast to get the cool coastal winds, it might be tough. I once gardened just south of Palo Alto, within sight of the Bay, and warm weather crops were a real challenge.

Thanks Charlie and zeedman! Tomorrow I will plant a couple of seeds in some open areas just to see what happens, and next year I will get them in earlier. I agree there shouldn't be any need to transplant here.

Last year I planted pumkins at around this time (my son really wanted to plant them even though I told him it was too late), and if it hadn't been for the gophers, I actually would have done pretty well.

Gophers... I had almost forgotten what a nuisance they were. I could eradicate them temporarily, but they always moved back in from the surrounding area. Glad I don't have to deal with them here.

If you had time to ripen pumpkins planted around this date, then the "Envy" soybeans should have time to ripen also - the DTM's are similar.
