Bush Dixie butter peas sending out runners???

I ordered some Dixie butter peas and they were supposed to be bush according to the web site. It's the first time I've grown them. They have started sending out runners. Did they send me the wrong seeds or is this normal? I don't want to have to build a trellis and they will shade my peppers if do.

Why don't you just cut back the runners, if there is enough bush to produce?

Dixie Butterpeas are bush. However they send out 12-18 inch flower spikes. Are you sure this is not what you seeing? The spikes are determinate , they will not climb.

Yeah... the first time I grew bush beans I was fooled by the apparent vine-looking shoot that came up. I thought for sure it was a pole-climber, but it wasn't.

If your runners are flower spikes, don't cut them!

Thanks all, It looks like the flower spikes farmerdill, but no flowers yet. They don't seem to be trying to attach to anything either.

I don't think they are flower spikes anymore. They are twisting around each other and putting on leaves. I will try to post a picture later.
