Caterpillars Eating Holes in Beans

I'm new to gardening in this area and I've never seen this before,
except in beans bought at the market

Critters are eating holes in my bean pods
and I'm pretty sure I caught a small green caterpillar in the act

So, what is this critter
and what can I do to discourage them?

(I did a search on this & came up empty)

Try some BT powder or spray.
