Cowpeas in my garden have never needed an insecticide. Is something attacking yours?

I doubt neem oil, used according to recommendations, would harm foliage or blooms. But I haven't used it.

Not sure but it looks like smut on the stems and under leaves.Very tiny blackish gray bugs. They are real thick.I have 4 rows of PEPH.Applied half strength to 1 row this a.m.Will evaluate tommorrow.Always have something attacking. If its not bugs its disease.Trying to stay chemical free as much as possible.Stink bugs will be a problem soon. They will appear as soon as peas start developing.

Just in from work. Checked row with half strength, no ill effects.Mixed up full strength and applied to 4 rows of blooming peas. Also applied to 2" seedlings.Fingers crossed that this works. Our peas always have bugs.Have been using chemicals that work but don't trust.Trying to be chemical free. This is a real test for green thumb!! ROLL TIDE!!!!
