Prettiest Supermarket Beans to Grow in July

There is a vacant lot near me. Still bare soil. I thought it would be amusing to seed it with random things. I obviously don't want to spend too much on this project, but beans and peas can be purchased cheaply at the grocery store.

What kind of pea or bean:
1.) Can be purchased in the grocery store in a form that can be planted and grown.
2.) Has particularly pretty flowers
3.) Will grow in late July in Zone 6?

I was thinking garbanzo beans or black eyed peas...

It would depend on the condition of the soil. If there is no danger of the owner's objection and you can water , bush beans can be a good choice.

Whole Foods is selling heirloom beans in the bins so you can buy as little or as much as you want. I got Snowcap, Apaloosa, Black Calypso, Cranberry, Black Valentine, Pebble Bean, Jacob's Cattle and Pigeon Pea/Gandules. There are others, they cost about $3.99 - $4.99 per pound.

Any grocery store dry bean/peas will grow. Maybe an exception for the ones labeled for split pea soup.

I don't know which would be the prettiest though! I think they are all pretty!

They will most likely be bush beans or peas.

I wouldn't go with the Whole Foods @ $4 or $5 a pound when @ a regular super market you can buy them for around $1 a pound + or - !
