Not every gardener subscribes to ROTATION concept. Just like you mentioned, it does not make a lot of sense to remove and reinstall trellises.

Soil is just a medium. Plants need nutrients. So to any medium (soil, soilless ) you add nutrients plants will grow happily. If I understand it correctly, the concept of rotation is for re occurrance of diseases that are soil borne.

Crop rotation is required at least here in this area for organic certification. That is why I will never be certified. Moving my trellises would be a huge job. - Dick

I've never really found leaving beans in the same place every year a problem. For me, its more important with tomatoes.

Excellent! Thanks for the replies. I really didn't want to set up a a trellis only to have to move it.

Crop rotation is but one of several considerations in designing a garden layout. In my small garden, other matters are more important.

I use the same poles however I follow with pole beans after a previous crop of cowpeas or butter beans and cow peas after pole or butter beans
Feeding the soil to increase the good microbes and putting the correct nutrients back in the soil are more important
I would only rotate otherwise if a heavy infestation of nematodes are present
