What drought tolerant, snap pole beans would you recommend for Texas growing?
Something prolific and great tasting.

I was thinking spring, but falls a good idea also.
We usually get out first frost around Thanksgiving.
Is it too late this year?

You could still plant a short season pole bean or most bush beans would make a crop before frost.

I would suggest Rattlesnake as the most likely heat tolerant bean for spring planting. Ky Wonder would be another good one for both flavor and production. Blue Marbut will do a good job in your spring conditions also.

For fall planting, a steady supply of water will be needed to get reasonable growth and production. Very high soil fertility is also needed. You can plant Rattlesnake but it will be a bit risky depending on the weather. Bush beans like Contender, Black Valentine, and Tendergreen would be better choices IMO. Red Swan is one bean you might want to take a close look at.
