Can I start pole beans now?

Can I start pole beans now in zone 6a? Temps are nearing 100 degrees. Will they germinate and grow with enough time for a harvest?

RE: Can I start pole beans now?

I don't know about pole beans, but I planted regular green beans (in Utah) over the 4th of July weekend. Sadly they were eaten by something soon after germination.

Pole beans take about 2 months from planting to eating and high temps will cause plants to stop production. Depends on when you have your first autumn frost, too, which will kill plants. Beans like it on the cooler side...70-80 degrees.
