 o
Pole Bean Support: Wire or Twine?

I'm planning on building some trellises this fall for pole beans next spring, and was wondering if it makes a difference whether you use wire or twine as supports? The wire would be nice because it would years instead of needing to be replaced every year like twine, but do the vines get as a good a grip on it for support? Thanks!

We do not use either as they do a fine job of attaching to the brush and saplings that we use

Either twine or wire will work equally well. Beans climb by spiraling around a vertical object. They don't depend on attachment to a surface.
