Can I train pole beans to grow downwards

I am growing some yellow pole beans and I'm wondering if it's possible to send them downwards on the string trellis I have them growing on. The trellis about 4 ft tall and they have reached the top with nowhere to go... They are beginning to send their shoots up over the trellis, kinda blowing in the breeze with no support. Can I turn them down so that they have more room to grow? Check out pics. Thanks

You can try to train them going down but it's not the way they want to grow. I would either let them be or find a way to add additional height to the trellis. If you let them be they will try to keep growing taller but find no support until they grab onto something lower making a somewhat thick mass.
