Really have no idea. The comments that I have read indicate that it forms seedpods sparsely. Most of the comments are about the tubers. While a widely distributed wild plant, it has not made inroads as a vegetable.

Chaman, I have read that groundnut flowers are pollinated by flies, not bees, hence growing typicially in swampy areas. You might want to try hand pollinating with a brush. Mine currently has flower stalks forming so I expect to see some flowers soon. I'll let you know if I'm able to get mine to set.

Sorry, can't help with knowledge, just a question: Could it be that, like Ilex, Apios Americana is sex specific, that is, some plants produce all male flowers, while others produce all female flowers?

In the case of Ilex, if the male and female flowers don't bloom simultaneously, there will be no berries.

Sorry, couldn't be of more help.....
