My bean tower is covered with lima bean vines but no beans. I'm wondering why.

RE: No Beans

They will take a while longer since they are vine instead of bush beans.

Mine have just started to produce.

RE: No Beans

Lots of flowers but few beans.

RE: No Beans

I can't grow vine limas where I am. It's simply not hot enough long enough.

RE: No Beans

I've grown three varieties of pole limas here; King of the Garden, White Willow Leaf and Giant Speckled. Yield was good on all of them.

RE: No Beans

I was just wondering if your beans went on and made for you during September. My Dr. Martins made a good early pod setting during the last week in July and I thought they would continue for the rest of the summer. However, they seemed to come to a halt or a least not do much during August, and then came on heavy through September. There weren't many in the area that had good yields on Limas, but we sure did. We gave away a lot to friends and family and still loaded up our freezer. They will be treasured as highly as the turkey on our Thanksgiving Day dinner table. They make me really appreciate my garden.

Hope yours did equally as well, or perhaps even better.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you bean growers and gardeners.
