Lima bean Pod Borer

This was my first time growing bush lima beans. They did just OK, growth and production did not seem all that great.

When I started picking pods, I found that a number of them were full of small round holes. According to my online research, this is probably from the Lima bean Pod Borer.

As far as control of this pest, it said handpicking was usually adequate. However, my garden is small and I pay reasonably close attention to my plants, but I never saw insects/caterpillars.

I never heard of this bug before today. I am interested in any experiences or advice.
