You would probably get more light if you ditch what looks like the emergency blanket foil and use white posterboard or paint a couple of boards flat white.

What kind of hibiscus are you growing? I'm trying some Kenaf and they are suppose to grow superfast. I know they came up in two days.

I read it from the forum here that this is emergency blanket is the cheap Mylar solution to reflect light. Why do you think this is a bad idea? I also thought it would keep the heat inside serving another purppose. Please advice

Only that it is so wrinkled that it will not do near as good of job reflecting light as just a plain white wall. Now, if there is someway you can staple it to a board (and "iron it") or stretch it out so that it is smooth, it will work great.

As far as heat, you have the ends and bottom open so the foil on the sides won't make a lot of difference.

I read that you are on a tight budget (aren't we all these days?) but you might be amazed what kind of a grow box you can make using just one large piece of white posterboard and some tape.

I did some thing similar last yr with the emergency blankets. It worked very well..but I had taped it to a set of plastic shelves. It seems that you are loosing light with it draped. Move the light to be mounted under that shelf I see and surround that with the blankets. I am in MA.

I grew toms cukes,basil,cilantro,delphis,larkspur,rubickeas ect this way last year. This year I am doing mostly the same thing..but I am suing the auto sun shades in place of the blankets on 3 sides and the blanket on the front.

In the pics the seedlings are kinda leggy.i did not have them close enough to the lights. So make sure you raise the trays of seeds as close to the lights as possible. I am using old pallets cut in half now.
