How do I know when to start seeds?

I went to SAM's and Lowe's today and bought the set up shown and endorsed by MaineMan. I'm planning to start all veggies and flowers myself this year. When do I start the seeds in the house on my new seed starting set up? I'm in zone 5 (Northeast Indiana) and I'm planning to start tomatoes, green peppers, lots of flowers, zucchini, watermelon, lettuce, etc. I have purchased two 6 X 8 hobby greenhouses that will be unheated (as I don't know of a way to heat the) to move plants to after they're big enough and it's warm enough. If anyone out there can tell me when to start seeds or direct me to a website or book that could help me I'd appreciate your help! Thanks to all, Lynn

Seeds are usually sown relative to the last frost date. 6-8 weeks before last frost is a good time for most annual flowers, later for really fast ones like Marigolds, earlier for slow stuff like Impatiens. You can sow earlier if you have the space to grow them on in fairly large pots.

Thanks for the link that allowed me to get to the NOAA site. Lots of interesting climatological data there. I am champing at the bit to start seeds, but I will try to hold off a bit longer...
