GE Mainlighter 40cw light- will this work as a grow light?

Hi, I am a lurker to this forum but not new to GW.

At a thrift store I purchased a 4 foot light fixture that has two GE Mainlighter 40 watt cool white fluorescent tubes.

Does anyone know if this fixture will work as a grow light?

I did a search and it seems these bulbs were manufactured until 1982.

It will work to rear seedlings as soon as they sprout if placed within 1-4 inches from the tops of them. After your seedlings develop their first true leaves, you will need to move them outside, buy a more powerful grow light, or both depending on your scale of growing and the types of plants grown.
