Growing under Lights

Fluorescent ... Metal Halide... High Pressure Sodium

I'm in the process of setting up an indoor grow room and interested in locating links/resources for determining growth phases for various plants and other tips for indoor growing. Any comments on the following setup:

Currently have several 48" T8 2-bulb ballasts with reflectors (for seed starting). Bulbs are Philips F32T8/TL865/PLUS/ALTO (6500K). Considering "halfing" the ballasts with a warm bulb.

For the vegetative and fruiting/flowering stages, I anticipate to go with the following (600W, MH+HPS) grow light:

...primary plants grown will be tomato, eggplant, cucumbers (among other vegetables).
