| Has anyone tried to use (salvage) the electronics part from a household compact fluorescent bulb after the bulb expires, as a ballast to power other flurescent bulbs?

| In the early days of Compact fluorescents, they sometimes used a replaceable bulb. In my experience though, the electronics is what generally goes first. Besides this, replacement bulbs would have to be in the same wattage or near and they are most of them 23W or below. In any case, they go for only $1-3 in the bundle packs at the big-box stores, and aren't worth saving. George |
