My Growing Setup

Hello everyone,

18 year old bonsai hobbyist from Virginia here. Just thought I would share with you all how I grow my trees, all being tropical trees, and most being Ficus.

I grow the trees under a four foot, four tube T5 light. I've built a setup that allows me to hang the light over the trees, but also help reflect light. I used foil and covered the light stand (made of PVC). The foil was cheap and reflects light (not as well as flat white paint, I know).

Here are some pictures:

Thought you all would be interested in seeing it. Feel free to leave any questions/comments.

Great idea Ryan, and it looks like you've done an excellent job building it with the PVC. I built something similar for my annual and perennial flowering plants but yours appears to be a bit more sturdy. Does it come apart or is everything glued? I made mine so it would come apart (at least in several large pieces) so I can store it when not in use.

Thanks Art!

It does come apart, I just didn't see the need in glueing it. It also makes it easier to store, like you mentioned.
