Compact flourescents are generally not good for plant
growth. They are OK for supplemental lighting, if you
put them in the midst of foliage, so most of the light
reaches the leaf surfaces. If you put the CF overhead
and try to reflect down unto the plants, you lose a lot
of efficiency because it is difficult to reflect this
shape bulb.

I recommend purchasing a 100w Ceramic Metal Halide light
system for $150. If I post a URL for where you can buy,
the old guard here may protest about the attempted
