Yes, the plant photosynthesize during light hours, and the energy produced (carbohydrates) are used for leaf growth, and transported to carbohydrate "sinks" (storage) for future use. At light, when light is off, growth continues, and the stored (produced) carbohydrate reserves are used accordingly
