72 cell flat... 42 watt lights okay?

New to growing indoors. I started veggie seeds and have sprouts, no true leaves yet. The 72 cell flat is about 1x2 feet. Would it be okay to just put a 42 watt spiral bulb on each end? No room and very tight budget.

That's potentially plenty of light but you will need a means of directed most of it down onto the tray. If half the light goes up onto the ceiling, and half the rest goes out sideways then you won't have enough light :)

Hmm... maybe aluminum foil? One of my sprouts is touching the top of the lid and has 2 true leaves, so I guess I need to do something today!

Can you go to Home Depot/Lowes and get a metal clip on work light, the kind that are aluminum and shaped sort of like a half dome? They're only about $3, I think.

Turn the lights on and then start looking for something to reflect the light downwards. Half the light is better than none at all :)
