The combination you have is very good. Alternatively, use use two cool white fluorescent lights. These are just great and will produce stocky seedlings.

I have grow most everything for years with cool whites, work great for me :)

Whats the difference between Cool White and Soft White. I bought Soft White at HD. 20watt T12's. My fixtures are 24 in. and that's all that fits. Thanks, Jane

Soft whites have more red in them I think?? You might find the Color temps on them on the net??

Yes, soft white is one of the terms used for warm white bulbs, usually 3000K or 2700K. Cool white is typically around 4100K.

Soft/warm white is more red, makes things look cosy :)
