Not professional, just need to keep some seeds warm

Hey all,
I am not looking to make this a life's work. Some of you guys are enviably hard core!
I just want to be able to start some seeds in a 3 season un heated sun porch I have..I am worried about them freezing at night as it still is getting in to the 20's and 30.
So I figured i could get a grow type light to keep em warm,I can't run a space heater unattended (can I ?).

And so I started looking for an inexpensive and simple system I found out that I do not know enough to even do that so help me out here.. I wanna start my Tomatos and a few other veggies indoors... what do I need to be able to do that ?
