case it is imho still better if used
with a good reflector as an overhead
penetrator than flouros alone.
and i am an avid flouro user, but
mvr (halide) or hps setups are more
efficient in my experience. but if

Yes, that's a mercury vapour lamp, pretty inefficient. Spectrum isn't great for plants either. You can use it, but you'll very quickly spend more money on electricity than you would have spent on a better light :)

Thanks guys, I'll think I'll be skipping these then. They weren't what was advertised. Besides, I'm just growing bedding plants and veggies right now. I thought they might come in useful later on in a bigger house, but I guess not. Thanks for the advice again.
