Seed Heating Mats

Hello,

I just bought one of those heat mats at lowes today. I have a question..How long do I leave these on under my seed trays a day? and do I leave it on after they sprout? I know it depends on the seed, so all my trays I have on it is Salvia. I also have the trays under a grow light too. Thanks

I would leave it on until the seeds sprout. Is the heatmat set to a specific temperature ? or does it have a thermostat. If the question to both are no, then becareful. Some heatmats will warm the soil to temperatures well beyond 90F.
