Leggy

Well I messed up on my first try. I grew 50 peat pots worth of lettece under lights and the stupid short chains that come with the lights only got it within 2-3 feet. I didnt think it would make that much of a difference and left it. Today one of my seedlings fell over. So I added a some dirt to force it to stand up and I put my toolbox underneath it so now the light is about 4 inches away.

My questions are: will the plant that fell over be able to survive? and will all the other plants that are probably already leggy be able to grow now that they are closer?

In a related question I have two grow bulbs in the fixture but I have read to buy one warm and one cool bulb. If I were to buy another light and two more bulbs what kind of bulb would I want to buy to pair with the grow bulb and cool or a warm?

Or should I get two more grow bulbs for the new fixture?

RE: Leggy

I would save some money and just buy some daylight bulbs from a reputable manufacturer. The Philips daylight deluxe at home depot have been working great for me and run about $6 for a two pack, sometimes cheaper when on sale.
