Growing under Lights

Curb Garden???

Digging a curb garden. I'm nervous coz B4 it looks pretty, it looks like vandalism. Tearing up a patch of sidewalk!
Everyone here does it, tho & it makes my street bee-you-tiful.

I live on Long Island Sound, 50 ft from it, so...SANDY soil.
I am using Miracle Gro soil, pre fertilized.
Should I add more fertilizer/compost?
Putting in Snapdragons for ambition, Zinnias for security.

I want it to look nice for all the neighbors who've made MY walk home so lovely.
