Hey all. Been reading around on different lighting setups to go with for my first grow. I read a few pros and cons of each, but most were 2005- early 2010.

I was wanting to grow with a MH light since I found a few on craigslist for 50$ each(fixture/ballast/reflector setup/everything). I would also upgrade the bulbs as well (trying to find a good bulb brand).

However. I am wanting to grow just greens (lettuce/cilantro/spinach/kale/swiss chard/parsley) and maybe try to fit some beets in there unless those would need an HPS, which I would hold off from.

My question. Would it be viable to only use MH for greens? Would it even produce as much yield as a T5? Considering you could mount the T5 closer, but I heard the MH has better bang for your buck in terms of lighting specs.

If I were to get a "T5". It would be 4' with 4 bulbs. The price of the MH is so tempting.
