Problems with starting perennials indoors

neila452

I am having problems keeping perennial flowers that I started from seed alive indoors. Included are such perennials as Scabiosa, Prunella, Soapwort, Delphinium, and others. No problem getting them to germinate and begin to grow after transplanting to 3" pots. But after a month or so some of the young plants just shrivel up and die, despite all the attention they are given. It has been frustrating.

I use a quality seed starting mix or Jiffy peat discs, a good transplant mix, and they are kept in trays underneath T5 Sunblaster lights for approx. 12 hours each day. I water at least once with a proper Captan mix to prevent damping off disease.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for all advice.
