Although I do not grow sage, I do grow other herbs (parsley, chives, and basil). I use both CFL's as well as a 48" fluorescent light to grow my plants. The bulbs I use are 6500K, as I have read that these are the best for growing leafy plants. I could be wrong, but I believe a fluorescent light fixture in the 6500k range is what you need to successfully grow sage.
