Enclosed-rated or Open-rated lamp with Hydrofarm Cord Set

Hi All,

I am a bit confused about the Open/Enclosed fixture stuff. I have a Hydrofarm All System Cord Set CS53500 and want to buy a pulse start metal halide lamp for it (Venture 58788 or 40124, to be specific) which is enclosed rated. I have a Hydrofarm Radiat reflector, to which I could add a tempered glass "lens". Is an enclosed rated lamp compatible with the above cord set and reflector set up?

The cord set socket seems simple enough, there is just the metal threading and a simple tab at the bottom.

I appreciate any help on this matter!

Just buy the Ushio Open rated lamp: that way you don't lose light going through the glass: It's only a 33$ lamp and it has fantastic performance.

Where are you getting the ballast from, what type is it? My experience is that I had to buy the PSMH ballast KIT and wire it myself. where did you get yours from and are you sure it will work? Sativa.
