Growing under Lights

Pond plants question

I'm gonna have to bring in some pond plants this winter-2 baby Lotus, 2 waterlillies 1 hardy, 1 tropical, 2 calla lillies, and arrowhead. What I'm wanting to do is just keep them alive, not necessarily grow them. If my pond was 3 feet deep, I could just sink most, but it's not deep enough. Anyway, can I just put them under a couple of shop lights down in the basement? I read here that it seems to be a myth you need actual "grow lights", is that right?

Yes, it is a myth that you need 'grow lights' it is just a marketing term designed to get you to pay $20 for a $2 light.

Having said that I have no experience with the plants you mention so I don't know how to overwinter them under lights.

You don't need grow lights for overwintering. A couple of four-foot shopights with cool white tubes for about 12 hours a day is fine.

Won't the calla lilies be dormant and not need lights? The other plants I don't know.
