I moved into an apartment that has mostly shade, and my Adenium and Crown of Thorns refuse to bloom, even when I put them in the most light possible on my patio. My apartment has old-style track lights with 4 barrel-style fixtures, 8 ft. ceilings. I'm going to set up a light stand on the wall and alternate soft white and bright white bulbs in the fixtures, all pointed toward the stand. How high does the stand have to be and what wattage would be needed to give enough light for these to bloom? The adenium needs at least 6 hours of morning intensity sun, and the crown of thorns needs full sun or 6 hours of afternoon sun. I can aim these fixtures, so I could do two on one plant and two on the other.
