Yes if nothing else (besides a fan or something) runs on it.

I have mine on a 15 amp and it's fine.

I have my 400 watt on the same circuit as the heat matt (another 600 watts) and the computer. 15 amp, no issues. If your electric is newer (

just remember watts= voltage X amps

so if your light is 1000watts and your using a 120 volt set up, which is most homes unless you hook it up for 240,
then 1000 divided by 120 gives you the amps that is uses--->8.33 amps

I will ad to that that electrical devices are rated according to peak wattage consumption, not normal running consumption (sometimes consumption is steady, sometimes it isn't). So, a device might be listed as 500 watts, but it only draws that at startup and then runs on less. In other cases devices draw more or less depending on how they are used like clothes dryer cycles, microwaves set on various power settings, hair dryers on high or low etc. This is one reason why in older homes with outdated electrical service turning on an appliance results in a blown fuse/tripped circuit. The initial power consumption was over the limit, but the running consumption isn't. Folks with outdated electric service seem to develop rituals as to what to turn on and in what order to compensate.

I used to do that too. Glad those days are over.
