Plants too succulent, leggy

My grow light set-up is on the second floor in my office. The plants overall do well, but the the tomatoes and eggplants in particular get leggy and over succulent. I think it is because the temperature remains too warm at night. I've read that plants appreciate a significant temperature differential from day to night in order to be come more stocky. Should I move the set-up to the basement or would using more fans work? I don't grow them in the basement now because it seems the boiler keeps it pretty warm down there in late winter, early spring.
