 o
office philodendron and lighting

I recently got a silver philodendron for my office. I have a cubicle with no natural light, just overhead ceiling fluorescent lights. I have an under-cabinet light. I put in a 32 watt full spectrum tube in this fixture. The light is about 20 inches from my desktop. I put the philodendron under the light and it seems that the leaves are starting to look washed out. I'm assuming that the light is too strong for the plant. Also, I have my peace lily under the light. Is this light too bright for these plants?? How far away from the cabinet light should they be?

Don't know about the lily but I'd think you could move the philodendron away from the 32 watter a bit and see how it looks after a week. That plant can be pretty neglected and should look green. Let it dry out before re-watering as well.
