will t8 bulbs work OK in the t12 shop light @ HD?

I removed the cover and I believe it listed the lights that would work and there was a t8 an the end of the list.

If it has an electronic ballast there is a very good chance
it will work with both T12 and T8 bulbs...even if they're not
listed.

even if not shown, the t8 will work. the important thing to look for is how much CURRENT the ballast will supply, and whether this CURRENT , at a nominal 115V, is equal to 32 watts. Some ballasts will overdrive a t8 lamp to 40 watts - do not be concerned, this is a good thing - much more light will come out of the lamp, and the life span will only be slightly reduced. A two lamp t8 ballast should draw .58 amperes to ignite the lamp to 32 watts, including the current drain by the ballast. a 0.73 ampere ballast will ignite your lamp to 40 watts.
