will t8 bulbs work OK in the t12 shop light @ HD?

| I removed the cover and I believe it listed the lights that would work and there was a t8 an the end of the list.

If it has an electronic ballast there is a very good chance it will work with both T12 and T8 bulbs...even if they're not listed. |

| even if not shown, the t8 will work. the important thing to look for is how much CURRENT the ballast will supply, and whether this CURRENT , at a nominal 115V, is equal to 32 watts. Some ballasts will overdrive a t8 lamp to 40 watts - do not be concerned, this is a good thing - much more light will come out of the lamp, and the life span will only be slightly reduced. A two lamp t8 ballast should draw .58 amperes to ignite the lamp to 32 watts, including the current drain by the ballast. a 0.73 ampere ballast will ignite your lamp to 40 watts. |
