Growing under Lights

Dear all,

I've been a member long ago. My friend is trying to set up some extra lights in the living room for his South African Oxalis plants, because the winter light is not enough for them. What kind of bulbs (warm, cold, light temperature, lux ) would you suggest. Could any of you send any information what kind of light should he use?

Cool white (4100K) is fine. I use a mix of 6500K and 3000K for overwintering, or just 3000K for seedlings. 10,000 lux at the plants for 10-12 hours a day should be plenty. You can get this from fluorescent tubes or from compact fluorescents.
