I just bought these lights off Ebay. Not received them yet. I am new to growing indoors and thought these might do for me growing herbs in my kitchen over winter. Was going to put these bulbs in recessed light fixtures over the kitchen bar. What do u think? I bought the 6500's. thanks

Oh my, I can't believe I just read through all that drivel on eBay and I still don't know what you have :( What power are your bulbs? 42W? Compact fluorescents of this type all have essentially the same light output for a given power (incidentally far worse than MH and far far worse than HPS), so you should be able to light about 1 square foot for every 30W or so of power.

Generally, compact fluorescents are not designed for recessed light fittings. You may find these bulbs are too large and don't fit at all. If they do, watch out for overheating depending on how the recess is ventilated. Most manufacturers don't mention this aspect, at best light output and bulb life are compromised, at worst the electronics inside your bulb will melt.
