I'd get a clip on light and avoid the PVC altogether. Just attach to the cabinets or shelves above your dryer.

Good luck, bWheel

If you don't have room, use Compact fluorescent bulbs, they are a little bigger than incandescent but much more light.

Or, get a 100w to 175w metal Halide lamp. It's not big, much more light also.

Incandescent bulbs = 700 to 2,000 hours.
MH, CF bulbs = 10,000 to 20,000 hours.

Hello. At this moment I happen to have at least a dozen cacti/succulents on top of my wash machne! I do alot of seeding and growing beneath lights. As I often run out of 'room', I have flour. light units...two bulbs to a fixture, that I can adjust via height...using bricks in my case. You can tell if your seedlings are doing well by their growth. If they are etiolated...stretching for the light...(long weak stems), you need to lower your light to within maybe an inch of the little guys. This will keep them compact. Then, as they grow, you can add another brick, that will raise the light unit. I hope this is helpful. SAM
