| I don't know if this helps, but about a week or two ago I moved a young Asiatic lily that had a bud on it. It didn't miss a beat and is blooming right now. I did this on a cool shady day and the ground was wet so I was able to move the whole hunk of soil (we have clay here) without causing any disturbance to the bulb or roots. They are some of the toughest plants in my garden. I have moved mine several times because my dog likes to lay down by them or on them! I guess she thinks they're pretty? I've always done it in the spring when they first come up. Again, transporting the soil around them to the new location might keep the bulbs from breaking up. |

I've moved some of mine just before blooming too, with buds already on them and was just really careful not to break the stalk. That is the hardest part for me. Just keep them watered for awhile so they can get rooted in good. Good luck, Nancy |
