White Blooms With Green Highlights?

The Lily Garden has a variety called 'Ice Caves' in their catalog that has "icy green throats." Does anyone grow this lily or any cultivar that has green highlights? This one is $15. Thanks!

RE: White Blooms With Green Highlights?

The green highlighting can be found on white trumpet and oriental lilies. Some clones and strains are just more pronounced than others and I believe temperature and exposure has a lot to do with it. Keep in mind that 'Ice Caves' is a strain meaning it's from a batch of seedlings that closely resemble each other, but are not identical.

For a strong growing plant with a pronounced green center, plant a few bulbs of L. 'Black Beauty'. With it's Lilium henryi ancestry, you'll see the starry green nectary as the tepals unfurl! Plus it's a tried and true lily that is extremely vigorous!

Best of luck!
