Sun or Shade

I was given a potted white stargazer and a potted casablanca late in the Fall. I've never had lilies before so have no idea where to plant them. Can I re-pot these or should they be in the ground and would they do best in sun or shade? Thanks in advance, Jill

You can repot them, but lilies always do better in the ground for me, and both cultivars, which are orientals like full sun.
