How to ward off Chipmunks from your Bulbs

2-years ago. We were sitting on the porch and I see chipmunks in formation carrying my gladioulus and lily bulbs on their backs. I went to get them back...they went krazie on me! Nipped at my Feet, Got on their hinds legs in a boxing position! To say the least, I backed off. My family still laughs about that!

What can you put down to keep them from eating my bulbs?

I heard Mothballs won't they contaminate the soil!

I use Bonide Bulb Dust to treat bulbs before planting. The dust also acts as an Insecticide and helps to prevent rot. Some people use wire cages, but it is too labor and time consuming for me...

I have been using -Bonide Organic Repels-All Animal Repellen - to spray my brushes and flowers to repel deer and so far it has worked.

Earlier today, I decided to heavily spray all my lilly bulbs with the Bonide and I'll plant tomorrow. I may also pick up some of the Bonide Bulb Dust.
