What can I plant with oriental lilies?

I'm planning a flowerbed with some oriental lilies in it because they are so beautiful and smell divine. But I'd like to plant a companion (or 2 or 3) so I don't just have long stalks during the late spring/early summer. Any suggestions on good companion plants?

Roses, ornamental grass, Echinacea. Anything. I tuck in Lilies anywhere I can insert my trowel.

I also stick lilies all over the place.. I have them in with black eyed susans, next to hydrangeas, in the phlox, with the dayliles and the roses.. I also like them with my lavendar..
