Most of the lilies I grow are Asiatic or L/A hybrid and I usually divide the clumps every 3-5 years. I don't worry about the "babies" because each year they will get bigger. If you felt better you could take it off and plant it in a new spot, it will probably flower in a couple of years. Several years ago, I dug up an old Lily bed and had dozens of little bulbs, some like marbles and I gave many of these away and others I planted in another flower bed. they are now full size (3') and big clumps.

This is actaully quite a large bulb. I am surprised it could grow something like that so fast. It is about 2 inches in diameter and half is above the ground. Makes me wonder what is underneath: a series of bulbs standing on each others' shoulders?
