I think it'll be best to get rid of as much morning glory as you can this spring, amend the soil to make sure it has adequate drainage and organic matter like peat moss or compost, and then your site will be more suited for you lilies or any other bulb/perennial you might want to grow.

Moving lilies at this time of year is tricky because they are sending up their flowering shoots and developing critical roots for optimal growth. If you must move them, dig around the plants and DIG DEEP so you get the bulb and as much of the root system below the base of the bulb as possible. Then, you must plant them right away.

If you garden is not ready, I highly recommend that you just pot them up, let them grow and flower this summer and then planting them out in the garden in the fall when the leaves die down.

After re-planting in the garden or pot this spring, you have to make sure they get adequate water and hope for the best.
