asiatic lilies w/no fragrance

I bought a potted asiatic lily from Lowe's, that looks just like the ones you get in the floral department at the store. Those smell lovely, but the one I got from Lowe's has no scent. What is the difference?

RE: asiatic lilies w/no fragrance

What is the difference?
From the link below:
Asiatic Hybrids generally have in their background many different Lilium species which originated from several areas of Asia. They are early-bloomers, usually with no fragrance, but multiply rapidly.
Oriental Hybrids were developed from only a few species native to Japan. They are heavily scented, with much larger flowers, and bloom later than most other types of Lilium.

Here is a link that might be useful: What is the difference between Asiatic and Oriental lilies?
