Tempted to move asiatics now: what effect would it have?

IÂm tempted to move some asiatic lilies. I know I should wait but this is the only time of year when I can really get in there. Later the tall stuff makes it had to get a shovel (much less me) in there. (My garden philosophy is "stuff it"). If they are only 2-3 inches high and I am very careful, what effect will it have? Sulking and no bloom? Delayed bloom? What if I take a big block of dirt with them? I'm zone 5 Chicago suburbs.

I moved a perennial earlier today and actually found a lily under the clump: white stem bent in a U trying to find a way up through the mat overhead. I knew there were lilies in that spot and wondered why they hadn't shown up when others of the same kind had, a foot away: now I know why. So that one was moved but it has me wondering about others in a less than optimum location where they will be crowded by other tall-growing plants later.
